Will the Lakers be eliminated in the first round of the playoffs this year?

Is this the year that the Lakers will make it beyond the first round of the playoffs?

Why or why not?

Will the Lakers be eliminated in the first round of the playoffs this year?nba odds

If the Lakers don't get a healthy Bynum back then I can see the Lakers losing in the first round. If Bynum comes back right then the Lakers are good enough to beat the Suns, Golden State, Mavs and maybe the Jazz and Portland in the western playoffs. With Byunm healthy, I still don't believe the Lakers can beat the Spurs, if the Spurs starting five are healthy.

Will the Lakers be eliminated in the first round of the playoffs this year?nba statistics ,nba teams

they will not.

heres why:

with bynum out, the lakers are due for a HUGE slump. im guessing they finish the season with about a 45-37 record. this will give them the 6th-8th seed, which means they'll have to play a team like Phoenix, San Antonio, and Dallas. With Bynum just a few weeks returning from injury, he wont be himself, and Kobe cant beat a team like the Spurs by himself either. Lakers out in the first round.
no because of kobe he'll take over the game and make it to the 2nd or 3rd round
It depends on Kobe, if he chooses to be selfish, then, bye-bye Lakers, if not, they can make it to the Semi-finals. Atleast.
If Bynum is healthy they could go further.
Yes

Because if they can atleast win 12 of the next 25 games until Andrew comes back they will be fine

iF ANDREW Bynum gets healthy fast and plays the same or better basket ball then before it wont matter if they play Pheonix of San Antonio or Dallas

And if Kobe has a little more confidence in his teamates they will probably make it to the Semi Finals
I don't think the Lakers can beat Phoenix, San Antonio, or Dallas even with a healthy Andrew Bynum in the playoffs. So out the first round this year unless they play Portland or New Orleans.
if everyone is healthy, i think so. They've played very solid basketball lately.

BaseballReference.com Every player that ever even stepped on the field you can find.
mlb.com
Go to Baseballlibrary.com and be prepared to be blown away.
That's like asking...

'I want to know everything about the Dept. of Defense...."

or,

"I want to know everything about Quantum Physics..."
Go to your local library and check out some books about baseball topics such as the rules and the history of the game. Read up on some of the famous players such as Nolan Ryan, Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle, and Roberto Clemente. Find out why they call Yankee Stadium "The House that Ruth Built." I know you said no wikipedia, but go there anyways. You can learn about all the different baseball teams and players from both the past and the present. They have all the baseball teams (even the defunct ones) and information about them from the time they came into the league until the present day. This will give you some basic knowledge of baseball.

Read the sports section of the newspaper, find out who are the good teams and who isn't good. Use it to look up who leads the majors in the statistical categories such as at bats, runs, hits, home runs, RBIs, and stolen bases.

Watch baseball on television or listen to it on the radio. You may find this boring, but you can learn VERY VALUABLE information from the broadcasters as most of them are former players and coaches.

Here are some websites:

search yourself use google

Go to games with someone who knows the game. That's how I learned how to play cricket, which is just as arcane.

If your boyfriend likes baseball or someone you like, talk to him about it. It is a good way to get to know him and I know I would like it.
Everything?

Clear your schedule for the rest of your life....

Baseball???

I've only seen two MLB games, but i get easily bored because it takes them forever to pitch and there are so many other distractions. Correct me if Im wrong (not from the USA) but Baseball is Americas national sport but i find it very boring and pointless.

Baseball???nba merchandise

Yes, it is the national pastime. And every sport is boring and pointless if you're not a fan- I don't see the appeal of watching two guys punch each other repeatedly or a bunch of people drive in a circle for three hours.

Baseball???2003 nba draft ,nba teams

Go to a Ballpark and t ell me its boring. You have never seen baseball until you seen it live. Report It

Your point?
Yes, baseball is known as Americas pastime.

Baseball is actually a very interesting sport if you know what is going on. If you don't know anything about it, of course you're going to find it boring and pointless.

I absolutely love baseball, it's my favorite sport.
You'll get used to it.
You actually have to experience a game espically at Major League level. Once you get there and understand what is going on it will or might chance everything.!!! Baseball is Americans pastime and is a game, it helps many of us from the crazy world we live in to cope for awhile. Most of us regardless of recent attacks on the sport can't wait for it to begin!! To each their own.
i dont feel watching 22 guys running after a ball for 90 minutes and NEVER scoring a goal is that exciting either..
to baseball fans, it's not "pointless and boring", it's slow paced and interrupted occasionally by brief moments of terrific excitement. Have an open mind and watch a few more games, ask fans why they find the game fun to follow, then, if baseball is not for you, fine. But don't ever say its boring and pointless, it's not to a kazillion other people around the world.
Thats your opinion.
There is a lot going on - definitely not boring and pointless. Baseball is not just about pitching and hitting. There is strategy in every move - every step- every position.

Some call it a thinking man's game. I suggest that next time you go to a baseball game, bring someone that knows and loves baseball. Have him/her explain what is going on as the game unfolds.

You might have a very different opinion of MLB baseball afterwards.
i bet you are from a country that plays soccer?

i find that boring,usually
well i find cricket boring as hell
You are as entitled to your opinion as I am to mine...and in my opinion...baseball is the best, most exciting sport around.
Baseball is the most intellectual game in the world. There are so many aspects one has to think about. Every pitch is a new game. One must have great focus to play or watch for that matter. So many different things going on at once. When I watch baseball I get so ******* excited. Every movement on the diamond is exicuted with such percision. Nothing is ever the same. It may be similar but never the same. You don't have to use your brain in any other sport like you do baseball. A game of chess has nothing on the mental energy you must put out to play baseball. It took me 20 years to stay 100% focused for all 9 innings of the game if not more innings. Theres so much going on that you can't catch it all.
"Baseball is dull only to those with dull minds."

Baseball?????????

when you say that a baseball teams record is 1-7 does that mean they won 1 game and lost 7 games? im very confused. thanks much!

Baseball?????????nba draft prospects

The overall win-loss record is just that: Wins and Losses.

Therefore a 1-7 record would indicate 1 Win and 7 Losses.

This is different from "The Count" which is the number of balls and strikes a batter has accumulated over the at-bat so far. Example: A 3-2 count or "full count" (3 Balls, 2 Strikes)

Hope this helps. For more accurate sports info you can visit the website below.

Baseball?????????nba 2k ,nba teams

He is absolutly right.

When you hit, if you were 1 for 4, then you got on base one time out of 4 at bats. When there is a walk, a sacrifice bunt, a hit by pitch, and intentional walk do not count as at bats. Report It

You're not confused, You're right.
yes...the wins come first then the loses
Yep... wins come first. 1-win and 7-losses.
Yes.

Not much of a sports fan, are you?
ya. Wins come first. 1 win, 7 losses
you got it right, and it means that team sucks, lol.
Yes...and that sounds like a team I would not want to be on.Good luck buddy.

Baseball??

I'm 13 yrs. old and last season in baseball I had 1HR, around a .280 BA, and I had about 12 steals. I'm really fast and I can probably can play any position in the outfield, plus I have rocket arm, do you think I have a future in baseball.

Baseball??nba ballers phenom

of course. anyone with those skills will kick butt in baseball. good luck :-)

Baseball??2006 nba draft ,nba teams

Sounds like point-gaming to me. A .280 average isn't going to get you anywhere. You'll be lucky to make the high school team. Report It

your 13 you not going to the big leagues any time soon so who gives a crap, just go out and have fun. chances are you will never come close to playing profressional baseball so have fun now while your playing. Report It

Geez anyone with those kinda skills should be in the majors now. Your da bomb. and only 13 Report It

it sounds like you have great potential in baseball but it mostly matters how much you love the sport. If you really like the sport then you should go for it!!!
If that's your dream, you should go for it. Just keep working hard and try to get good coaches that can really help you. Play during the regular season and winter ball and if you can you should look into a traveling team. Good luck!
your still young, keep working at it and you never know.
Definitley, as long as you beleive you can play in the major leuge, youll get there.
Of course you have a future in baseball. If you think otherwise, why even try?

Don't give up - ever. You still have a long ways to go. Work harder than anyone else, and live with no regrets. You'll be happy you did.

Here's some insiprational quotes:

"In great attempts, it is glorious even to fail.

Winning is not everything--but making effort to win is.

It's easy to have faith in yourself and have discipline when you're a winner, when you're number one. What you've got to have is faith and discipline when you're not yet a winner.

If you believe in yourself and have the courage, the determination, the dedication, the competitive drive and if you are willing to sacrifice the little things in life and pay the price for the things that are worthwhile, it can be done.

The harder you work, the harder it is to surrender.

If you'll not settle for anything less than your best, you will be amazed at what you can accomplish in your lives.

The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather in a lack of will.

Once you learn to quit, it becomes a habit." -Vince Lombardi
keep working at it sure you can keep the enthusiasm
Project that against stronger competition and you have a ways to go but with practice on the hitting you can have a chance.Work on your hitting in a batting cage and look for contact, with the speed it could be a plus if you can get on base and make things happen.Scouts look at how you can help the team so how can you help the team at the plate is the key, work on getting good jumps and increase those steals. It is a plus that you can play all the outfield positions but remember so can alot of other players your age. With that arm, possibly try pitching.
Sure why not? Just that not many people end up on famous teams you know. But someone has to and you could be one!
as a young player I dont mean to crush your dreams but if your going to play at the next level you pretty much need to be the best one on the field by far in little league 20 games i had 10 HR and hit .400 and pitched a complete game every other game and had 9 shut outs and after high school I tried to keep playing but everyone else moving up is at least as good or better you better get to the cage...
